Aaron and Brad have been working hard on Jared's cubby on stilts. It has been made large enough so that all the boys in the house can sleep in it. There is more to do but it looks like it will be finished soon. More photos to follow of the finished product. They are planning a sleep over in it as soon as it's finished, I hope the nights warm up soon for them :) Thanks Aaron what a good daddy you are.

Here we go 2010 !

Well, I thought that I would write something on our blog. It has been so long that I could not rem ember my sign in name so that I could up-date this. Now that I have worked it out I am going to do a much better job this year of up-dating this family journal.
We are all excited for 2010, time is flying by more than ever before and the family is growing and changing in so many ways.
Jared is now 9 yrs and still loving his baseball, swimming and singing. He had a great experience at Christmas09 as he was invited to sing a solo at the 'Carols by Candlelight Concert' at the Sydney Temple. He was the first child solo and sang beautifully in front of 2500 people. As soon as we get a copy of him performing 'The Little Drummer Boy' we will post it for all to hear. Jared goes into year 4 this year once Summer holidays are over. Jared also loves to learn to play the piano using u tube. His Sister taught him to do it this way and it suits the budget a little better for us!
Brogan is turning 19 in 2 weeks! She is a beautiful young lady whom we are very proud of. She is developing spiritually so fast and enjoys her calling as a primary teacher. All the children love her. She is also a great swimming teacher and finds herself teaching all the difficult children. She has also taught a blind child and a deaf child to swim. Since starting YSA last year we have not seen her. She has travelled to America and been on holiday to the Gold Coast a couple of times now. This last trip to Queensland was for National YSA Convention 2009, there were 2600 YSA there! She is not home yet, too much partying going on I guess :) Then there are all the YSA activities. She has been diligent since graduating seminary and has attended Institute each week. She is a very loyal daughter and we love to laugh together. She plays the piano and has a real gift in that she plays by ear.
Bradley moved here in June of this year, it has been wonderful to have the family back together. We are working on re-building relationships as we haven't had more than a holiday each year, apart from his 2year mission since he was sixteen and we moved to Australia. He is an amazing young man these days. He has a stake YSA calling and has been set apart as a counselor for EFY that is coming up next week. He has made so many great friends in the church and has slowly found his footing this year. Its a big move and especially hard to leave family. He has just returned from convention and sounds like he had a blast! He starts Macquarie University when they start up for the year in February. He will be studying a bachelor of commerce. Fortunately he was able to transfer his credits from the UK and so only has 2 years left to complete. We love having him here.
My mother has also been staying with us since June as she retired from teaching Easter 2009 and decided to go for it. She jumped on a plane and hasn't looked back since! Life in Australia has been good to mum I think I can safely say. It is always challenging when you are used to your own space to adjust to family life, but all things considered i would say we have all loved the experience. Having time to develop a relationship with mum has been a gift. It will be hard when she goes home but we are all praying that once mum has had time to assess her life that moving to Australia will figure in there at some point :) My brother arrives for a holiday in a couple of weeks and they will take a trip up to the sunshine coast and Cairns. Exploring the barrier reef and many more amazing sights along the way. We look forward to showing Jason around Sydney and the beaches in NSW.
Aaron and I have had an amazing year. What with 2 redundancies,Aaron worked in the investment banking world of executive search, you can imagine the struggle that came to the industry with the global economic crisis! We fortunately had been blessed to get some savings which have saved our bacon and Aaron has just started a new job, yippee! However I have been working on re-launching the skipping business which now goes by the name of 'Skipping 4 Life'. I found a lot of success in 2009 and so Aaron has decided to aim at taking that over and building it up this year so that we are not reliant on these companies. Its very exciting as I know he will be fantastic. With this in mind we have both decided to get fitter...yeah! We have set the gym up in the spare garage and are off to a swinging start. Its hard to get up at 5.30am in the holidays but once I'm up and walking with my friend it feels fantastic and at this time of year, the only cool weather is from early hours until about 6.30am. then its all over red rover !Whilst I walk Aaron gets in the gym with my mates hubby and they workout. We'll have some great before and after photos I'm sure.
Aaron is still in charge of ward choir and I have just been re leased so watch this space I guess :) thanks for the rest though Bishop.
Well I will post some photos asap but for now i will sign off, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY .
